Where's the Weekend?

Where is the weekend already? I dont feel like it can get here soon enough! I am such a bum lately but all I want to do is relax and spend time with my family! Don't get me wrong I love my job but I am in a funk and getting out of bed to go to work lately has seemed like the biggest chore ever! I feel like from the time I drop my girls off at daycare I am racing to see how fast I can pick them up because I feel like there is never enough time in the day to spend with them! The bitter sweet thing is that they absolutely LOVE their daycare and they enjoy being there and playing with their friends and so sometimes I feel torn on picking them up early to spend time with me or letting them play those last few moments.
Anyways, this weekend I am on call (blah) but I am hoping that the on call phone wont ring off the wall because in my attempt to be somewhat, "Green Thumbish" I want to work outside and try and plant some greenage and beef up my yard. My fabulous neighbors are always working in their yard and they make mine look like a junk yard. I swear they mow their yard like clock work and they know the day its gonna rain and mow their yard the day before so that it doesnt grow like crazy after a good thunderstorm. I, on the other hand, am not going tto mow prematurely haha. I like to feel accomplished so I choose to wait until i cant see my cankles when I walk through it and then I feel like its time to mow :) I need to get over this and add "Yard work" to that little calender that i dont use haha.

On Wednesdays, I help teach a young girls class at church. This segment of our teaching is on keeping ourselves healthy as a whole because our body is a temple. I think I have benefited from this more than they have. If you saw my previoius blog then you know that I have started this advocare 24 day challenge and I am loving it. Its been a week and although I am refusing to step on the scale until the end of the challenge, I can already see small changes! For one my nails have hit a growth spurt and they are stronger than they have ever been! I also have so much more energy, I dont feel "sluggish" like I have when I was consumed with eating junk and sugary drinks. If anything, this is definitely teaching me a new way of life and I am loving everything about it!

Anyways, before I got off on how awesome Advocare is, I was talking about my Wednesay night church class. Tonight we talked about keeping our minds healthy and not full of junk. and of course what other verse fits better than Phillippians 4:8. When I was talking to the girls I couldnt help but think how clouded we as adults can let our minds get! I have been battling keeping my mind in a good place for awhile. Things go on at work, school, home, and even things that dont effect me directly, but things that might be effecting a coworker who calls to tell me their problems has seemed to be bogging me down. Its so important to train our minds and ourselves to refuse to let the things of the world bog us down and cloud our vision that God has for us. God doesnt intend for me to walk around all day being worried about who is mad at me, or worried about who is talking about me, or worried about what bills have to be paid. He states over and over again that he has good things in store for me and worrying doesnt help anything, therefore I need to remember always what an awesome God we serve and not let the things of this world bog us down!

Bye Bye Plus Size Barbie

Well... Well... Well... it has been way long since I have posted to this "blogworld" but things have calmed down tons in the Napier household and I am back in the game :) However, I have been a faithful reader of all of my favorite blogs in my absence of post! (just wanted to throw that in there.) Anyways, if you know anything about me, you know that I am extremely hard on myself and have low self esteem which has stemed from weight 40lbs heavier now than before I had my two beautiful babies and underwent a hysterectomy. It's hard to be this big ball of flubber (especially when you are married to Mr. Gym GQ himself). I have been the worst yo yo dieter, (well almost the worst I have at least one friend that I can think of that is worse than me but her name will remain unidentified to protect our friendship haha) so after following my friend Danielle's blog (http://www.butlerpartyof2.com/) I have made a committed decision to no longer yo yo diet, but to change my lifestyle. Not only because I am sick of being "plus size barbie" but because i know that my "body is a temple of the holy spirit" and i am sick of feeding it junk and putting myself at higher risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc. As a christian, and a nurse, and the wife of Mr. Meathead himself, i know better, and deserve better than what I have been offering. So with the help of Advocare's 24 day challenge (which I will start tuesday) and my new "lifestyle" I am on the road to a more healthy, happy, hotter me!

Here is some proof that I am dedicated. Me and my hot little meat head headed to the grocery store to pick up some new "health" food. I have to admit that I know why americans are fat, we spent 100 dollars on some coconut milk and fruit (and a few other things) where I could have gotten a buggy full of junk food. Its crazy how much more expensive healthy food is, but i kept telling myself my doctor bills will outweight my grocery bill if I dont change things NOW! haha. Here are few of the things we picked up.

I am not very "health food savvy" so I was stumped on this one, I know dairy milk isnt the healthiest, but i didnt know whether to go with coconut, soy, or almond milk so any suggestions on this would be wonderful!
I am lucky that my little diva's love fruit, in the napier household we currently have bananas, strawberries, blackberries, canalope, oranges, cutieis, apples, grapes, not to mention how many veggies. I hope I train them to live a healthy lifestyle, but im running out of time so I better start now!
Got us some more "shaker" cups because you know you are not technically a "health nut"without some shaker cups.

Made my first "health food"dinner tonight. chicken made with real lemon and pepper sauted in olive oil and sauted squash and baked asparagus. I think this is the first dinner in 26 years that I have eatten that does not contain a lick of butter! Woo hoo! thats more than a baby step, that should be considered a leap! You know us southern girls love our butter!
Anyways, Its late and i know sleep is high on the list of being healthy so I am gonna hit the hay! Lord knows I need my beauty sleep!

My Bachelor Picks...

Ashley is definitely one of my favorites on this season... I think she is A-dorable! She seemed to just let her hair down and have fun, and open up and that always wins me over. i love the fact that she's genuine. Also, she is a dentist.... she doesnt need his money, in the words of that rapper guy "i love her 'cause she got her own" haha. Not to mention i'm all for the girls in the medical field :)

Look at that figure! she's got a "natural" cuteness to her!

I wish i was confident enough to be chowing down on that junk on a first date, none the less look like a super model in a super fitted, tight, short sexy dress... Can you say JEALOUS! haha one day. ... one day i'll be that skinny... Anyways, off my soap box, we know she don't eat that stuff, A.) because she's too fit to eat that crap
B.) There's too much sugar in that stuff and we know dentist dont approve of that :)

And... my next favorite...the cute little blonde. I'm partial to blonde's if I do say so myself...
Plus... she works for a childrens hospital... Can you say "woman after my own heart" haha
She is just too stinkin cute. Josh says that she looks "too fake" oh well... fake or not... she's gorgeous and i wonder if he thinks the same think about me when i try to doll up like this.
Look at her style....she reminds me of Amanda Fouts over at My Life as a Wife.
Blonde's really do have more fun :)
I'm really kinda glad that they gave brad a second chance... he SEEMS (key word:seems) to be a sweet guy.. but only time will tell..
And on a side note... i just love this bikini. It reminds me of the one Elle wore in legally blonde for her entrance video to harvard except hers was pink.

Anyways bachelor fans... who are your fav's?

Let it Snow... Let it Snow...

PLEASE!!!!!!!! I'm begging!!! Let it snow! haha I have two little girls that keep asking me, "is it going to snow? is it going to snow?" they are ecstatic about playing in the snow since grandpa sent a picture of the snow from his house yesterday! I have to admit i'm pretty fawn of the snow myself :)

Today me and my little ladies are having a Lazy monday. There isnt anything else i enjoy more in the world then staying home and playing better homemaker all day with them. I have a bunch of wonderful friends that are always asking me to go out with them, and although i love my friends dearly, and i occasionally do go out, when i get home from school and work, there is nothing else i want to hear than "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" and to see my handsome husband. This is my heaven.

Anyways, the diet is going good. I have not followed the diet exactly because i got freaked out about how healthy it was. One morning I woke up and could barily move because every muscle in my body was knotted up and i was NOT dehydrated, i had drank over 3 liters of water the day before so it kind of freaked me out. So no... i have not been following the strict 500 cal diet that it calls for, however, I have stuck to under 800 calories of no sugar, nothing but water, veggies, fruits and other healthy food and still have lost 12 lbs in a week. I also have been working out every day (except for yesterday because sunday is a day of rest) and i am starting to feel good. I could tell the difference for the first time yesterday in my clothes when we went to church. I'm excited to be healthy and hot!

speaking of church yesterday, Maddie comes in our room yesterday morning about 9 and says "Get up and lets go to church, you buttheads." haha me and josh both busted out laughing. kids say the darndest things.

anyways, keep your fingers crossed that it snows :) you dont want to dissappoint these two little diva's! :)

Operation Skinny Witch: Now in progress

Soo.... I was sick and tired of complaining about being fat and ugly and this year am deciding to do something about it. I have one extremely hot husband who deserves a hot wife, and two amazing little girls who deserve a mommy full of energy to share and play with them... and as of now... i'm robbing my family of the best of me.

This year i will Finally graduate from RN school in May and I couldn't be more excited to be done with school.... However, I won't really be done because I plan on applying to UTA to get my MSN to become a nurse practioner. So i'm excited about 2011 and what it holds for the Napier family.

Anyways... back to my weight... I started the HCG diet on the 1st. and boy let me tell you... IT SUCKS! haha don't let anyone tell you that its easy breezy because they are FULL OF IT! lol. The first two days were easy because they are your "gorge" days. You are suppose to eat anything and everything possible. And as crazy as it sounds... when you arent suppose to be gorging... its the easiest thing in the world to do, but when you are suppose to be eatting everything in site, its hard haha, i all of a sudden had no cravings and no appetite, and its more than obvious that I didn't get to be this chubby bunny with no cravings and no appetite.

Anyways, Today and yesterday have been my first two days of the 500 cal diet and I am STARVING!!!!!!!!!!!!! not to mention today at work they brought pizza in and everyone was smacking and talking about how good it was... my mouth was watering like a homeless kid in front of a bakery! it was AWFUL!!!!!!!!! and it didnt help that there were five of us packed into the room the size of a freaking porta potty! and if that wasn't enough.... I took the girls out to my Nannys house today and they knew we were coming so she made cookies and cake and picked up chocolate for the girls.... AAAGGGHHH!!! BBBBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTT i did it! controlled myself for the FIRST time in my life when it comes to food! I am gonna kick this weight in the butt.... I can't be married to nick lachey and be anna nicole... i have to pull out my inner jessica simpson :)

On this diet you are suppose to weigh first thing every morning... well this morning would have been my first actualy weigh in where i would expect a loss and i FLIPPING WOKE UP LATE so i didnt get to weigh in! So... I am excited about my weigh in tomorrow morning because i will see the weight come off from two days of basically starving myself haha. you are suppose to lose a lb a day on this diet so if i lose two pounds then i'm happy :)

i am also getting my hair done tomorrow so it sounds like its going to be a great day! :)

My Favorite Pass time...

This morning I stayed home with my kids because they were both feeling under the weather... so i utilized this day to play "super mom" i wanted to make them breakfast, and they wanted pancakes... however... we were out of the pancake mix, you know the kind you "just add water" too. haha so... i got out the ole' cook book and made these suckers from scratch! And i do have to say... they were the absolute best pancakes I have had in a REALLLYYY long time. you know you are growing up when you can whip something up from scratch :)

Probably because I spend my spare time reading Southern Living and browsing blogs, the internet, random cookbooks for things I can feed my family with. They always say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.... no wonder men are more appreciative of their wives in their older years than in the beginning... because i know josh did not love me because of my cooking skills in the beginning... and its a good thing he loves me for my cooking skills now because i dont have the body/looks i did when he loved me in the beginning haha.

Anyways, since recipe scoping and backing/cooking have become my favorite pass time, i thought i would share one of my all time favorite most memorable things in the world with you. This is a blank cookbook I got from my grandma's house when she passed away. She had tons and tons of books(literally like a library) and i found this old cookbook full of weather blank pages. I took it and have since then continued to fill it in with family recipes and some of my favorites as i come across new things. I hope to pass this onto my kids one day. They already love to help in the kitchen (especially Kenz) so hopefully they will get married knowing how to cook instead of trying to figuring it out on their own like I did.

I think we need to have a blogger recipe share so we can all trade ideas :)

Holiday Cheer

we had the best christmas EVER in the napier house! We got to spend it with all our family! we had a house full and a busy schedule for two straight days and we wouldn't have it any other way! Me and my fabulous aunt mary baked for 2 straight days before we even had christmas dinner. we had so great conversations in the kitchen. I think everyone should have an aunt mary. she has taught me many important life lessons over some cookie dough and meringue toppings :)

Anyways, Here are so pics. of the festivities. Santa brought the girls a three story barbie townhouse, tons of barbies, and two baby dolls... they stayed up sooo late on christmas eve that they didnt want to get up christmas morning. I tried to wake maddie up at 9:30 ( I NEVER SLEPT PAST 7 ON CHRISTMAS MORNING WHATS WRONG WITH HER!!!!) and I said, "Maddie, wake up santa came!" and her response was "I dont care, let me go back to sleep!" haha i was like um... wish i would have known that because we could have saved santa a good 300+buckaroos haha. but she was excited a few minutes after walking into the living room!

Also... we got to spend christmas with Brook. (see below photo's). This is Jeff's girlfriend and one of my best friends. Let me give you the background on her. her and jeff dated back when mckenzie was born and our family fell in love with her but she had to move off and her and jeff decided the long distance was too hard... I honestly prayed constantly that they would get back together and i told jeff at least once a month he was going to marry her. Well... through divine intervention (thats what i call it) she joined the air force and was stationed here in wichita falls for a little less than a year and guess who rekindled their relationship! Yep! and although she is stationed in san antionio now... their short time together made them realize that they couldnt live without each other and are now stronger than ever! As a matter of fact... jeffrey is in san antonio this entire week!! Just call me cupid! :)

This is the girls with their finished products in front of the christmas tree. Those cookies had tons of icing on them... so much so... the trashcan got most of them but a few crumbs were left on the plates so that there was evidence that "santa" enjoyed their treats!

Look at jeffrey decorating cookies with the girls. He is joshs cousin and he currently lives with us because he just went back to school. him and josh are SUPER close and so i think of him more as a brother in law vs cousin. we love him. he is soooo good with the girls.

ugh... ignore the roughness of myself, but this is me after slaving in the kitche nfor two days :) but note my husbands "christmasy" sweater his wife has good taste :) He's such a hottie. "santa baby.. hurry down the chimney for me"

heather "monkey" as the girls call her. jeffs sister-our cousin. we love her!

Does she look happy to you?

Love birds with their movie tickets from me and josh :)

Heather, Aunt Mary, Brook, and myself... could not live without these three!

my three loves digging into their gifts! i live for these moments with these three. i am beyond blessed.

If you are wondering what "loot" i got for christmas... i'll fill you in... i got a new coffee pot, a new cookie sheet, 6 bottles of twisted pepermint lotion from bath and body works (I'm goo goo over this scent and its only a seasonal :(, some Victoria Secret Heavenly (my signature scent), some Victoria Secret Oh La La, some Victoria Secret Love spell body lotion/body wash, some gift cards to kohls, ross, cracker barrell, chili's, some scrubs, some pajamas, some holister sweats, some picture frames, some cash (since we are going to vegas on Jan 15th!) With my gift cards got some new boots, jeans, three sweaters, some new kitchen stuff, and tons of other little stuff. I was spoiled for sure :) Can't wait to do it again next year (with a huge pay raise might i add since i graduate in MAY! woot woot!)
Hope you all had a fabulous christmas as well!
